Hi Janet. This is a well written piece, illustrated perfectly. I do like the gnomes, but I don't have any. I confine my ornaments to the backyard which is fenced. I sympathize with you having new neighbors with an overabundance of lawn ornaments. Marilyn

Thanks Marilyn for your kind and sympathetic review. Maybe when spring comes and the grass grows, they will be less obvious. :))))

"Nan never met a gnome she didn't like." I suspect you did not intend for this to happen, but I split my sides at reading this line!!! It sooo reminded me of my Aunt Francis. Her collection of garden paraphernalia was quite eclectic... you had to laugh as you walked through her back yard.
Thanks for the memories!

This was so much fun to read! You did a splendid job with the meter and your choice of rhyming words.
One of my neighbors has big plastic dinosaur heads on their front lawn. I think I'd prefer gnomes, haha. Hugs, Lou

A funny little ditty about those ever loved/hated little gnomes. It seems that they are everywhere and why it's true not everyone enjoys their company they do however appear and disappear it would seem at will. I say this because one came for a flying visit one day next to my roses and was gone the next day but not by my hands. Thank you for sharing your little ditty. God bless

Your poem is skillfully and creatively composed and vividly descriptive.
I can see why neighbors were a bit put out over the sight of all those gnomes, but for someone to take them . . . !

It is not only a bit of a cheeky poem, but a wonderfully funny write as well. I remember selling alpaca rugs on the side of the road and we were in Sonoma ... well the posh vineyards thought our rugs looked like tacky washing so I can only imagine what the "Gnome" crisis would be ... lol
A great write. Good luck. xoxo Kiwi

Well done. I think we all love gnomes. Mystical figures that move around the garden when you least expect it. i loved your story/poem because I have the whole set of the seven dwarfs...sleepy, doc, happy and so on. Occasionally they fall on their faces. A light and happy poem friend.

Thank you so much for your delightful review. I would love to see the seven dwarfs in a yard. I can only imagine what Nan would do with them.

What a clever little write giving insight into the adorable little creatures! I share a love of gnome so I can identify :) I don't have them so much in my garden but love them inside decked out for whatever season. I really enjoyed this :)

There is a place in Donnybrook, West Australia where gnomes live in peace without fear of ridicule.I have a feeling Nan's gnomes immigrated to Gnomesville. A very entertaining poem.

I love this poem and I can relate to. I know people in my neighborhood who collect these figurines too. They collect Laafs too. These are despicable monsters, but some people seem to love it. Your poem is very funny and it gave me a big smile. Fia
