I hear you on this one K. The weather here in Australia has been so extreme with its heat and fires to storms and flooding. Everyone is affected by it.
I thought I'd review this poem to bring it the 'Recognized' ribbon it deserves.
Just a comment on the last line - Can't come back from from the cost - you may want to delete the extra 'from'. ~DDx

Hello my friend, Thank you for reading. Yes, a holocaust indeed. Now the monsoon rains are saving our country. It will take many years to come back, some will never. Blessings, Kay.

I am so sorry your land has been so devastated by the raging wildfires. It is a blessing that the rains are coming and putting out the fires.

A poignant write here speaking of the aftermath of the tragedy of forest fire and the loss of life and beautiful greenery. It will regrow, but it will take years. I feel for your country and hope that those who have lost everything can rebuild their lives. Much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Hello Dolly Peg, Hee, Hee. Our Govt. is trying to get tourists back. The media has made Oz sound like no one should travel here, no so. We have much to offer still. I cried when I found out we had six million native animals killed. However, would you believe, helicopters are dropping food to the animals spotted. Thanks for reading my friend. Love, Kay XX

Hi, yes, all that rain was great. It is lovely to see and hear. Nothing like the sound of rain on the roof to put you to sleep.

I liked your poem. It is a 'good' work that I enjoyed reading. The reason for the four star ratings is the rhyme. You are obviously wanting this to rhyme each alternate line, but at ties that felt a little forced. Like the us of farmers and chimes, which didn't work for me and also in the line with 'food' and 'stood'.

So my suggestion for improvement would be to work on those couple of areas to see if you can't come up with more appropriate word usage.

Overall, it is a good poem that I would recommend to others for review. Nice to read you today, Eve.

The devastation is beyond comprehension. So much land turned to ashes...so many animals lost...so many people exhausted and homeless. Thank the Lord you've survived. I wish I had a six for this, my friend! xoxo

Thank you my friend. The monsoon rains have finally arrived! We ar still devastated; millions of acres lost, homes and millions of native animals. At least the rain is easing the drought. Love, Kay.

Well said Aussie. Well written, well rhymed and with much emotion in each verse about the terrible cost to our land, our animals and all those affected by the bush fires. Hopefully the rain will put out all the fires.
cheers,
valda

Hello Valda, It's still raining! You would be used to it up north. It's a joyous time now, our farmers are getting bucket loads! Love, Kay.

Praise the Lord for hearing and answering prayers. I know so much was lost, but God is good all the time. Even when we don't see it, He is good. I am so thankful the rain came. You are still in my prayers my friend! May God bless you all and the little animals too! love you! Teri
