This is a romantic little poem, Yvette. I like the composition of your Kouta. It has just the right word choices and a beautiful image to go with it. Marilyn

Beautiful lyrical poetry. This is the first time I've read a kouta. I may take up your challenge and try one of my own.
Well done, Yvette.

Hello Yvette. That is a nice verse and of course I know nothing about the style but I liked the content. It's probably time for me to leave FS and go back to my hillbilly ways of just ritin' stuff and getting some stuff published in journals which is what I was doing 'fore I came here. I was gettin' some cash there. :)))

Hey Yvette. You're welcome.
Pretty soon. I'm gonna send Ralphie off on his own. He gets all the smiles, and I get all the frowns. Who can compete with that?
He's becoming a real showboat.

What a pretty poem you made out of 4 lines! You said more in the four lines than some do in 4 stanzas! The picture is very interesting also. It enhances the poem beautifully! Great job!

This is a cozy, warm all over poem. The artwork suits the piece well and is amazing to behold. I see you wrote a 'Kouta' and a well done one at that. I love the phrase, "dew drop's kiss" but my favorite line is the last one, "Dream this life is ours." So even if it isn't yet, dream that it could be and is possible. I like that theory very much. We can't forget to dream, whether it happens or not is beside the point. Excellent presentation. Good feelings are left with those who read this.
Take care, Jesse

Hi Yvette.
Since your post, I have noticed other Kouta's being posted. It looks challenging. I might try penning one myself.
It has rained this week with high winds, which brought the power outage for a while, yesterday. So much for sun shiny days, For a while anyway. I hope you're holding up with the weather down there.
Take care, Jesse

Yvette,
I can learn a lot from reading your poems and now a new style to consider for my own, Kouta.
That gentle kiss can almost be felt and what a delicious whisper to hear! Quite a lovely thought you created with this post. Your selected artwork is perfect for your verse.

So Yvette,
I have been saving in Review the following for a Tanka contest, but can redo as a Kouta if I omit my fifth line. Have you an opinion on which would make a stronger impression to the FS community?

sunlit shadows slope

adding mystery
to a statue's stoic smile
and a visitor's vision
Of course, I have added various alliterations to this verse (-;

ð?¥°ð???ð???ð?€© you vixen. I accept. I shall pen one, without a doubt. When exactly, I can't say, but yours has ignited the excitement for the format. It is beautiful.

This sounds like a place for two where nothing else exists in that moment frozen in time. The only thing visible and tangible in that world is the two of you. I like this romantic, passionate, and well written work. Well done Y.M!

What a lovely little poem! I have never heard of the Japanese Kouta. This one is very good. I like the line Dream this life is ours. You chose a stunning image also. Thanks for sharing this with us.
