This poem is beautifully written, and I suspect a metaphor for life, love, keeping feelings inside, and then often drowning in sorrow. Your words are clear and concise. The third stanza is definitely my favorite. Excellent writing.

A very well-written poem about how each droplet if our existence mixed together in the ocean's and in the rivers in land. Sometimes we have to open the flood gates to cleanse the debris clogging the water flow.

Loved how you constructed this poem with the occasional internal rhymes as well as the irregular end near rhymes. And I feel like this speaks a lot about relationships in general and finding that perfect balance of mingling and reserving.

Oh this is so beautiful. Life and emotions are exactly as you describe through this example of water. Flowing sometimes, dammed up the next! Love this!

Thank you for sharing!

Lisa, none of us is an island unto ourselves. What we do and say can effect others we come in contact with as our lives mingle together, just as the writers on this site.

I admired your social commentary and your describing the analogy between natural rivers and our own "pools of wisdom" or "sorrow". Here's to being focussed on "tomorrow" as well as immediate results. Cheers- Joan

This poem is rife with metaphors and life-like messages. The droplets mingle as in where the rivulets flow and how there is smooth sailing sometimes and rough rocks in some spots. When you really think deeply about the waters in the world, there is a time when they have flowed unceasingly and reached the other side, if you get my meaning.

Most interesting poem - embedded in this are the tears of the writer, finally a floodgate opens. Well done with comparison of raindrops feeding the rivers leading to the sea.

I've never felt more connected to our planet as I am now. Whatever happens, affects us all. This is a lovely poem and a clear warning. Sadly, it will go on deaf ears where it really can have an impact. I fear for the future of our children. Hugs, Lou

Very true our droplets mingle and not a single time but several times over and over. The seas, lakes, rivers, and ponds keep moving rather fast from one to another carrying the droplets further on as the mingling continues. When it comes to your body of water that you quench your thirst from the droplets are all totally different than the droplets that started out mingling in the first place. Before you partake of this water, it must be cleaned and filtered through a water plant. And the droplets start to mingle!
Great poem!
Patty
