This is such an interesting way to look at winter. I really like the way you worded this poem. All in all, I think that this is a wonderful poem to read and I enjoyed it very much.

I adored this write Yvette, few words spoke volumes here and your words are chilling and icy. Alas spring is a long way off, but I liked the positive rescuing here, love Dolly x

This is excellent. Ice as a metaphor for imprisonment and the chill of Winter, as beautiful as it is to the eye, will not end too soon. I love "hunkers" down as a verb. It says so much about the reaction to the scene. Spring as rescue--like a Saint Bernard dog with a small barrel of brandy on his collar. Great word mastering!

While you are having a wonderful winter, we are having a not so wonderful summer, with record heat and a very fire laden wasteland, Send some ice. Well done, an excellent 5/7/5, poem, Yvette, blessings, Roy

Comment from CrystieCookie999
Descriptive 5-7-5 about how the world at wintertime has to 'hunker down' and wait until being rescued by Spring later on. I hear some 'n' consonance with end words 'again' and 'down.' Good share with a striking winter photo choice.

I am that way, too, when it comes to winter.
Comment from June Sargent
Yes, February can't end soon enough! After that it should feel like spring is around he corner. Can't wait to be liberated! I want to see my poppies again...
