Another fantastic short story. Everything works, from title to the final oar else.
Great job, Lisa. These are really well planned out in every aspect and entertaining as all get up.

Ah, those Italians. I was married to one of them. My daughter's middle name is Italia. Good little story on life with a gondolier. Favorite lines:
"Italia now, I'd rather play bridge with you," he sighed, "but it's high tide I went home to clean the venetian blinds, oar my wife'll divorce me." Marilyn

A very well-written fifty-word romantic commentary a singing gondolier in Venice Italy, he will gondel all the beautiful tourist girls around the canals while his wife keeps the Venetian blinds clean.

LOL - a gondolier, how fun!! Have you seen the pics of some of the canals there now with their drought...? Of course, they were just flooded in the fall with the rains...! ;) Thanx for sharing! ;) Yvette

The play on words is delightful and I can never get enough of it. I have a few more to review and I am looking forward to seeing the new professions and their shenanigans.

Well done - is Venus in Italy? I didn't know that - but certainly "those tourist girls" - the dreams they nurse. Still this gondolier had a good moral view of marriage.

Thanks for another great installment so that we canal get our morning fix of laughter - "Venezia" and "Italia" are to die for.
Also- congrats - I see that you are the #1 ranked author at present - a fitting tribute to these great pieces.

I thought gondolier was an STD until I read this!
I particularly liked the oblique reference to that most famous bridge -- the Bidge of Sighs -- that is slipped cunningly in here amongst the giggles. This was as usual great fun, almost oarsome in fact.
