A perfect poem for what is going on outside right now this very early morning. NOT blizzard conditions, but winter has finally come to Ohio.
Love the line: howled through the conifers. Great use of alternative wording. Could have just said the pines and been ever so boring. Great job. You make one feel the CHILL.

Yes, we got about 4-5 inches on Friday night! Long over due but glad it wasn?t too much! Living in the Great Lakes area can yield far more! My great grandson and I went out yesterday and built a small snowman! He?s been waiting forever he said! Haha! Thank you so much and yes, pines seemed a little boring! LoL xoxo

Diana,

One really feels and sees how your words and image work so effectively together in your contest entry.

Do like phrases/words: blustery blizzard, howled ... conifers, whipped wildly

THANKS for my peek today.

Mark

The 'no moon' makes it seem even colder whether in thought or in reality... great words to paint a picture in such a limited format, Diana!! ;) Stay inside! ;) lol! Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;) Yvette

Yes, even if the poor moon is out there trying to shed its light, a blizzard just doesn?t care! We get these storms here frequently in winter and white-outs are common to us! Especially when lake effect snow is involved!! Thank you for reading this chilly tale! xoxo

Yeah, we haven?t had much here yet in northern Indiana which is pretty unusual! But hey, it?s nice once in a while to get a break from 6 ft of snow and white-out conditions! Ha! Thanks for your feedback!! xoxo

This looks like a very cold night. Br....Br.....away we go, gliding through the snow; to Grandmother's house we go. I guess we must enjoy the winter months as we cannot do anything about the weather.

Ha! You are so right! I live in Northern Indiana and even though big snow hasn?t shown up yet, it?s most certain to soon! Appreciate you stopped to read! xoxo

Wonderful pairing of artwork and poem. Easy to visualize the scene you describe. Good focus on sensory imagery like that COLD snow during a blizzard and the HOWL of the wind. I don't envy the Speaker being caught in this storm. Rod

I see you're out on an evening sleigh ride. It's so hot here, I could expire. A lovely reminder that it's winter... somewhere. LOL!
Sending you my best today as always,

These are the fearful scenes I like to escape, and being cosy indoors means everything on these snowy nights, I felt a chill when I read your words here, love Dolly x

Burr! Thankfully we have not had one yet here; and believe me, here in northern Indiana, we get some bad ones! Then we get lake effect from Lake Michigan on top of just normal storms! Thank you for appreciating this! xoxo

I caught some great 'b' alliteration with 'blustery' and 'blizzard.' Then there is 'w' alliteration in 'whipped' and 'wildly' in the last line. Without punctuation, this poem feels as if the storm reduced to a commend that also almost gets obliterated by that howling, cold wind. Great art choice. Nice entry.
