I think this is an interesting entry for the 20/20 Vision Poetry contest.
This verse poses a very good question. I wonder if I'd look or walk away.
Well told. Good luck to you with the contest.
Sharon

I know that one would be tempted to read it if it was another book that's not the Bible. If this is a book that has pinpointed every intricate detail of ever day of my life individually, then, I don't know if I'd want to read it. Just like the word of God, you can't change anything, but, I love to read it. It maps out the course of my life and gives me the choice to obey or not to obey and deal with the consequences. It's more than do's and don'ts though. It's a relationship with the God of the word. I like what you've done with this and enjoyed reading this inspirational and thought provoking work. Great job and well done!

Hello anon - Oh, what a question! This is very well written and leaves the reader in a quandary. Temptation is a risky business.

"You'll have twenty-twenty vision
of everything your life will bring.
There is just this one provision--
you're not allowed to change a thing."..... I think probably it is best not to know what the future holds. You could spend a good deal of time unhappy. What a clever poem - there will be many readers intrigued by this poem of yours. Good Luck in the contest - a good contender I think. Regards Dorothy x

Wow. This gave me a lot to think about. I believe I would walk away. Life is full of pain and joy. Knowing something bad or sad is going to happen would probably steal any purely joyous moments away. Good poem. Gretchen

If I can't change a thing, I would rather not know. I'd simply walk away and wait for life to turn the pages. I'll embrace the blessings and cope with the challenges as they unfold. Just my take. Great food for thought!

This poem has such a great idea, wonderfully written. I think for many it would be a difficult question to answer but I am pretty sure I would say no thank you. All in all, I love this poem, it has quite a unique approach to the topic.

I'm with you. I would say 'no'. Part of me wants a peek at just a couple of pages ahead, but then again, maybe not.
Thank you for the review and your insightful comments.

Ah, what a clever poem!

One tiny typo -- L9: It should read, "Are (you)..."

I do not think there could be a better interpretation of this challenge! Wishing you the best of luck in the booth.

Very well done! If I was offered a look into that book, I would have to turn and walk away. I don't want to know what will happen in my future. I'm hoping for some nice surprises along the way!

This is excellent. Definitely a sixer if I had one. Your poem poses an interesting question and most of us would probably choose NOT to peek in there. This looks like a contest winner to me. Best of luck. Marilyn

A very well-written twenty-twenty poem and an invitation to get a glimpse of our future. We are not supposed to know what our future holds but only to trust God with our lives and what He holds for our future.
