I used to read Bunnucula to my 6th graders every year. Great allusions. OMG the beehive hair doo. There stories of mice building nests in women's beehives. You've outdone yourself with the physical descriptions. We could easily sketch Mrs. Truman. Contrary to many's belief left over from Colonials, wampum is not money. I was a way of communicating with beads or a belt. You kept the reader going...more to follow, I'm sure.

This had plenty of personality as you related the travails of this school boy in his life. We feel him imagining the librarian as one of the Simpsons, then dodging the principal and his humorous admonitions. Told through the child's eyes the simple side of the world becomes bigger and more complicated, the adults have to be cut down to size in order to deal with them, and navigate the rules of the school. estory

I loved this. I am new to FanStory and so have not read your previous chapters.
1. Cody's impish personality is nicely developed through his interaction with the librarian and the principal.
2. The undertone of danger is subtle.
3. Mr. Miller, the prigish principal, speaks in sentences that characterize him perfectly.
4. Dialog is very realistic.

There's seven chapters so far. Not good to not get notifications. Anyway, appreciate the suggestions and the review.

I see this common thing with you Americans between the shook and nodded also the "tooo" for "too" and "loose" for "lose" and the omission of joining words especially from the West Coast. There is a rumour that only school teachers in America use correct English - ha!

I like to end my chapters on cliffhangers. Many have told me it makes the story more interesting and brings them back for more to see what occurs next. Appreciate the review.
