Nicholas had no idea what he was getting into when he accepted this job, did he? He is the "real" grounds keeper so he is expected to know exactly what to do, although no one has taught him anything. Looks like trial and error will get him there as long as he keeps his wits about him.
This is a great story. You have me hooked.

Finding the "Chester drawers" (that's chest of drawers in NC. We make em here) :) My curiosity leads me to the light in the drawer. Z (*_*)

You brought out all those elements of suspense and intrigue that keep a good suspense story going. I think you ended it at an opportune moment to catch our interest in finding what is in the cabinet. And why it was so important to open. This seems pretty well geared to your target audience, although its not quite my cup of tea anymore. Tolkien is the gold standard of these fantasy pieces, I think. Good luck with it. estory

I nearly passed out when I saw the garden shed! I was sure I was hallucinating. And then, I opened it and wow and behold there it was ... the next chapter!! My husband said I was only unconscious for half an hour, but I'm okay, so you needn't worry, Yvette. Then I read the chapter, and, oh they were all there waiting to be released for their fans to see them again! Bless their hearts.
