I love this poem, because it so accurately describes waking up to a snowstorm. As opposed to other acts of nature, it is silent and you don't know it's there until you look outside, or hear the plow go by bright and early. You used tbeautiful words to describe this, and they flow well. The image you used complements your words very well. Best of luck in the contest!

A very well-written quatrain poem about the scene outside changing over night into a white wonderland that seems like a strange new world in the backyard.

This is a great entry for the quatrain poetry contest. You have described a beautiful winter scene very well. I wish I could see it. It was 70 degrees yesterday where I live. Usually it is 20 in January. Great job and thank you for sharing.

Oh, Heather, you don't want to be here when it's 70 degrees there. Thank you so much for your kind praise of STRANGE NEW WORLD.

I've tried to make myself like the snow. I can't. It can be pretty, bit I hate driving in it. I'm not fond of shoveling it either. It's bitterly cold here and this pretty much describes the scene from my window. I've spent the whole weekend inside.

with marvelous imagery of the winter scene and nice alliteration.
The rhymes and meter are spot on and the art work matches very well.
Very well done.

That would be my cue to stay inside until it melts.... lol! ;) A beautiful offering for the contest that truly defines that silent peacefulness and even wonder that greets a morning after night's snowfall... Thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;)
