hi, excellent piece of work. I liked the idea behind the poem and how you managed to come up with it. Simple but powerful, I liked it. Keep it up and I highly recommend your work to others. Nice image and presentation.

This is a well written poem. It paints a picture of a hunter concentrating on a rabbit while the bird has a lucky escape. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

You have made excellent use of all of your syllables in this nature 5-7-5.
Sometimes when I am enjoying such a scene, I don't think about the fact that the creatures I'm watching are looking for supper!

Great picture to convey your message of the hunter and the hunted in this terrific haiku. Beautiful image of the hawk as it flew over the field.
Well done and good luck in the contest.

Janet, I appreciate your validation.

We see soaring hawks in the canyons around us--we are never able to see what they are hunting. Your haiku helped to answer that question. Your artwork selection was perfect and I enjoyed your alliteration of "h's". Best wishes in the contest- Joan

No hawks at the moment--but many doves, bluejays and grosbeaks at our bird feeder, looking out at the Pacific! Have a healthful and productive 2020- Joa

The balance is there, the nature image is there, and I think you did a good job of articulating this struggle between predator and prey in this haiku piece. Very oriental feel, nicely done. I liked the alliterations for musical element. estory

Hi
A strong photo to go with a picture of words for the contest.
I did stumble a bit on hinder, but understand you wanted the alliteration of the Hs
good luck in the contest

Well matches words and picture for this haiku. I hope the rabbit gets away. Though it does seem improbable.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing

Comment from Alchera
The syllables counting in the first line is wrong because "soars" is one syllable not two so there are four syllables in all. The rest of the haiku narrative story lined content is good and acceptable.
This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.
