I agree with you on this. I shop at Goodwill all the time. I don't shop at "regular stores" any more. Your poem touts the good buys available. An enthusiastic and upbeat poem. Written well. Marilyn

This is a shop-a-holic delight. I thought it was funny with the lines: "Toys for Grandkids knowing/their parents will flip their lids." I thought the combination of 'gently used/amused' made a great pair, too. Super list poem for this contest!

Thank you so very much for reading and the upbeat review. There is nothing as fun as thrift store shopping! (well, besides hanging out with the grandchildren!) I appreciate your time!

I enjoyed your poem Thrift Store Shopping was well written. I liked your use of capitalization of items. It was different from the 20 item list poem entry's.

Good Luck with the contest.

Thank you! I probably didn't do it right! I am sure if it wasn't done correctly, they will let me know! At any rate, it isn't getting changed, even if disqualified. It completely describes my trip to a thrift store!
Thank you for taking the time to read and review!

Dear Mystery Poet,

This is just the second poem I have seen in this contest and I like your unique style. I counted and you have exactly the needed twenty items - so kudos!

Only a couple of minor nits:
1.) amongst things other(s) gave away

2.) PRIZES for the my preschool kids
--> delete either 'the' or 'my'

Thanks so much - though I sure can't imagine what your home might look like - unless you are reselling some of these items at a profit???
('Course, I wouldn't say one word about it on a visit - I'm not doing THIS but MY own home stays a crowded, filled WRECK because of GRANDKIDS!)

*smile* Good luck!

Thanks for the input! I will try to get in and make some adjustments. Time is not on my side. We are not hoarders by any means, just collectors of stuff. We often laugh that we want to take everything outside, have a huge sale and just keep what doesn't sell. We do collect old musical instruments and have them literally hanging all over the house. That is rather fun! My favorite is an old cello that hangs in our living room! I found it at a yard sale in our community last year. My husband told me to go look around and buy him a cello. AND I DID! Thanks again. I appreciate your time.
