Ulla, what a lovely tribute to Phyllis. I think sometimes that we tend to offer platitudes because we simply can't find the words to offer someone in his or her grief, but your tribute is honest and sweet. Methinks Phyllis would be proud.

She made an impact on a good number of us here and her memory will certainly live on. I hope they have a little fanstory group in the next lifetime and everyone is able to meet and hang out.

Comment from Thomas Bowling
Phyllis was a great friend and a very talented collaborator. She kept me in line while writing Bowl of Stew. Sometimes my humor crossed the line and she would pull me back and keep me from making mistakes. We spent many late nights sending email back and forth. I am blessed to have know her. She was a special person.

Dear Ulla,
What a heartfelt and beautiful tribute to Phyllis. I did not know her to the extent that many on FanStory did. But I surely appreciated the conversations we enjoyed. She will most certainly be missed...
Thank you for honoring her life and friendship in such a special way...

Comment from Drew Delaney
Yes, Phyllis had her strong opinions and yet, we managed to surpass the differences as all writers ought to. Her family have all her writings to hold and keep. What a treasure for them.
A lovely testament of her years here on Fanstory.

Thank you so much, Drew. She was who she was and she made no bones about it. I respected her for that. Yes, they have her wealth of writing and, as you sat, it should give them comfort. Ulla xx

Hello Ulla. It is a wonderful tribute to Phyllis. I had a few times I communicated with her but not often. I had no idea that she was in ill health because I really didn't know her very well. I learned a little bit about her by reading your essay. Robert
