-A lovely choice of artwork
and heartfelt tribute, Helen.
-I didn't know Phyllis well,
and I didn't know until looking
at her portfolio that she and
Thomas Bowling did the
'Bowl of Stew.' I read one of
them, and it was so clever.
-Your poems are also a
very good tribute written from your heart.
-Phyllis would appreciate this
and have a smile or two, as well.

This is really good Helen and a excellent ode to a dearly loved friend. I believe that I've read some of her work on here. She was a very talented writer. I believe that she was kind, encouraging, and witty. She will be missed. Thanks for sharing this well written offering. Well done!

Hi Helen, 5 minutes into the New Year and already, the loss of another Fanstorian. I didn't know Phyllis myself, I never had the pleasure of the connection... I'm so sorry for your loss. :(

Thanks for reviewing, Susan. I guess that's how small my world is - I thought everyone knew her!
Hugs!

Helen,
Hmmm... starting to think this book wasn't such a good idea. So far this morning, I've only read Katy's letter, Thomas's poem, and this, but I can tell it's gonna be a long, hard journey.
We've lost some really amazing people, but this one has hit ME the hardest (or maybe it's even cumulative at this point?).
While I'm thinking about it, thank YOU for being a big part of my online life. You are very special and MATTER to me.
One nit: (YES! even here, I'm a pain!)
--> Then she gave reviewed my posts and gave me such helpful advice.
--> delete the first 'gave' (and the 'me'?)
Thanks, buddy.

Thanks for catching that, Robyn! I probably would have missed it even if I re-read it again!
Appreciate you, Robyn! Let's keep going for Phyllis and Dean and Michael ... You knew Brooke but I didn't. Thanks for rallying us together to grieve together and comfort one another. Hugs!

This is a beautiful tribute to Phyllis, I will definitely find her book and add my own. She was one of the first people I had contact with when I joined Fanstory in October. I did not know her well, but she was sweet, funny, and very helpful. I will miss her, too!

Hi Helen,
Hope all is well with you and yours.
I didn't know Phyllis, but I did read a few of her works. She was a talented writer. As I haven't been on Fanstory in quite some time, I didn't know that she had passed away. I'm sorry to hear it.
You wrote a fine tribute to her. I think it especially nice that you made references to her works in your poems. Well done!
Hugs,
Connie

What a magnificient tribute to a unique and special lady. She helped me with my English and my punctuation all the time. Loved the addition of the stories and the extra pieces

Hello Helen. I had a few interactions with Phyllis but did not know her very well. I didn't know she had health problems. That is always sad to learn that acquaintances have passed. Robert

She was indeed one of FanStory's best known contributors. I will miss her penguin family particularly. It is hard to think that they must inevitably perish with their author in the sense that there will be no more silly adventures and yet the will live forever as delightful stories.

I'm glad she posted those penguins recently because when she first wrote them, I don't think I was on Fanstory yet. Thanks for reviewing, Jim! Blessings!

A very well-written tribute in honour of Phyllis Steward's life and contribution to FanStory over the years are of great value to all who interacted with her. Another bright star that is taken from us.
