This poem has a definite list of things that are needed to please the speaker. The twenty cats at the beginning would certainly fill the bill of 20 things, but that is really just the first. I definitely relate to the desire for music, dancing, books, candy, and a good man. But at the end of the day, when it's time to pray, that request for 'pain-free knees' really sounds better and better! Great entry.

I think this is a good entry for the 20 Item List Poem contest.
This short verse tells of the 20 things needed to stay home comfortably and the pain-free knees needed to enjoy the rest.
Well done and I wish you luck with the contest.

I like this humorous list of 20 items that you like. I like that expression to be in "fine fettle." Best of luck with your knees and finding a good man. Those two may be tough.

I like the list and could see me getting a lot of the things on the list as well if I couldn't wander. The poem was well written and I enjoyed it a lot. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

"If I Have to stay Home"
I'll burn the house down!
I'm up early and I try to get out of the house early grab a cup of coffee and grab a bus and go to a local Burger King for free breakfast.
This was well written rich in Theme and Imagery.
...
It read well and Flowed well with no Grammar Issues.
Adjective and Objective Contents were both Excellent and Exceptional while Descriptive Measures aligned Perfectly.
Thanks,

Haha-ha, Oh my gosh, this is hilarious. I absolutely love it. I totally relate to this list, so much it's scary. My favorite part it this:
Good music's a must, and I'll not let dust settle;
I'll be dancing (to keep in fine fettle)
with my vacuum cleaner, to keep fit and leaner.
I'll need to dance because there's a chance
I'll find my stash of fattening candy.
(My sweet tooth means I'll keep it handy.)
In addition, I hope I'll have a telescope,
to peer with starry eyes at those gems in the skies."
That's so crazy, I have a closet full of vacuums, I'm addicted, and love to play Youtube music videos while I vacuum. lol. And, I have candy dishes throughout the house. A telescope set up in my front sunroom and the other in my bedroom. Oh, Dear! I'm such a boring woman if this is my exciting life. Haha-ha. Good luck! ~Kerry

Well done! I enjoyed your compilation of 'needs' for time at home.

At first, from the initial stanzas, I thought of the typical cat-lady... but once you kept going, you were just a lover of cats.

My favorite line: "I'll be dancing (to keep in fine fettle) with my vacuum cleaner, to keep fit and leaner."

My vacuum cleaner is an upright character - a good dance partner. But he sucks at conversation.

Excellent list of twenty things to keep you happy at home! You've got some very simple wants in there -- bread, fish, candy... and some tall orders like a devoted man (not always easy to find), pain-free knees (I
guess it depends on your age) and 20 cats!!! (Although with one visit to an animal shelter, we could make that happen, in a flash!)
The rhymes and humor work well, nicely done.

I'm old enough to have sore knees. No doubt 20 cats would drive me mad. I am missing my beloved cat who died a couple of months ago, but I am resisting getting another one just yet. (Although I did go to the pet shop and cuddle 2 kittens recently.)

Ok, so you let your imagination run wild... hence the 20 cats! I'm sorry your dear cat died. I have sore knees, too. I know people have had successful knee replacement surgeries, but for me, I wouldn't do it unless absolutely necessary... I guess you feel the same way? There's no risk in dreaming.

My knees aren't quite sore enough to do anything about them yet; just hoping they don't become a problem like so many of my contemporaries. Some have had hips and knees done. I dread the idea of surgery. I dream of a cat-filled, healthy old age, being a demented poetry lady (but only demented with delights).

Demented with delights sounds okay to me! As for your knees and mine, I hope they all hold up!
