Well now, A New Year is all about, out with the old and in with the new is it not, ha ha. A clever little 100 word flash for the contest Yvette and one which should more than hold its own come judging I reckon.

Starting the New Year off with a little packing never hurt anyone, yeah? LOL!! ;) Thanx for your review, Hitch, and thanx especially for that lovely cross at the end of the five stars!! :) :) :) Oh, and no 'judging' here -- it was just the blonde having a little story-telling fun! ;) Take care over there and may your New Year turn out to be a spectacular one for you and Moana! Yvette ;) ;)

This was indeed a shortie and a definite surprise, Yvette. I guess it further proves that hiding something from your spouse never ever works, the truth always comes out. Very enjoyable.

This is so bad! Wicked fun. She's a quick one and hopefully won't make the mistake of marrying such a jerk the next time.
Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for the new year.

So funny, Yvette. I love the set up and the twist at the end that changes the entire tone of the write. Well done on using feelings, assumption and retribution as tools in this tale.

Definite intro, character conflict, climax, twist ending. This is also, I think, a rare reaction of sorts. Changes can happen fast, of course. It is interesting that you portray both characters' points of view. It seems Trent was putting off being honest, not realizing Melanie would have been ready to throw him out post-haste. So much to find in 100 words!

I'm glad she found the tickets and can grieve, or not, on the beach! You short story will raise a cheer for all of us who have been cheated on...but its written in a positive...I'm gonna be happy no matter what-kinda way!
I like it!

Yvette,
thanks for jumping into a flash fiction story with some good humor for the new year. Nothing like getting a jump on the one causing the trouble.

An engaging tale with a twisted ending. Those always add more depth to a well told story. Hopefully, it is "Emily" in those boxes. That would serve the cheating husband right. Let him take his new lover to Tahiti now...just not the way he thought he would.

This is marvelous, as suspense, and a surprise, 100 word Flash fiction entry. You should've entered this into the contest for a surprise ending. Anyway, I love the dialogue banter back and forth, it's so natural and realistic. Melanie gets the last laugh, and as far as Emily, she better watch out for his wandering eye. If he did it once, he can do it again. I've seen this happen before, in novels, and in real life. I love the phrase, "tickets to Tahiti," alliterative and I'm sure, a fun place to go on vacation. Well written and enjoyable to read. Thanks for brightening up my morning.
Take care, Jesse

Great new pic!! ;) Yvette
