So sad, Dr. Ricky, you have been struggling with so much despair and depression, so much loss. But you're trying to keep "flowering hopes" alive and have returned to your Lord and God for His blessing, forgiveness, strength and courage. Still you await the Day you will see the Lord and your dear ones, as do many of us.
I didn't know that you lost your beloved wife, just 8 months after your son. I am thinking that the grief took too much out of her. But that left you with a lot of loneliness and grief to bear alone.
So much heartfelt, poetic wording in this piece!
Your faith and your writing are two blessings that you have to share with others, and I hope you will always continue to do so.

Forgive me Mary
And, when it comes to losing my son?
That was hard enough to take and yes that was hard too eventually the wife had stopped her medications.
She just Continued to take.
And,she left me so much in debt from gambling.
I almost lost my house.
And, I had $8,600 in back taxes!
I couldn't even go back to work my son worked with me.
So, I took an early retirement.
Ricky
After 36 years as a supermarket manager my employer stole $100,000 my profit sharing.
I guess you can believe I was being tested that's the only thing that made any kind of sense?
Thanks,

My dear Dr. Ricky,
I have nothing to forgive you for! I mentioned forgiveness only because we ALL need God's forgiveness, and you mentioned how angry you were with Him. But you made your peace with Jesus.
I still can hardly believe how much you have been through -- so many misfortunes, things both wrong and unfair. Yet God is still with you, Ricky.
Keep writing! God bless you!

Its unbelievable that you had two deaths of beloved family so close together! At age 18, I lost my mom and grandma who lived with us, 8 months apart. Destroyed my world, so I get the mad at God stuff. What I like about your poem is its honesty and openness. You're missing
your spouse and beautifully write about a horrific time in your life.

Thanks Tina.
And, I welcome you to follow the rest of this story.
It's going to be at least three more parts.
And, you going to see more glory and flowering Hopes...
Finally, then you going to see an eventual very large Road to Cross.
Ricky...

An understandably bleak poem under the circumstances you describe in your notes. You have clearly been to hell, looked it in the face, and come out the other side. That is the important thing. You have come out the other side.

I'm so so sorry to hear country writer that you lost your spouse and then another family member.
I'm in that same boat too but Seventeen years and time cures to a degree.
...
Journal is much as you can and write it all down.
And, it helps tremendously but only time will ever help you.
And here you really will be with your friends.
