This is a beautiful form .I have always admired Gungaloo .I was a fan of her short lined poems.
This poem achieves the effect of severe winter with the use of winter images and repeated'socks on toes'.Thanks for sharing.

I grew up in the country in a nowhere place called Kansas so this is exactly how we felt when it started getting cold there. We put our socks on, got out the fire poker and hoped the pipes didn't freeze. It really brought me back to fond memories while also be lighthearted and charming. Overall well written.

That's the forecast here. They're telling us to expect -20 with snow by the weekend. My plan is to spend it snuggled in front of the fire with the cats, definitely with socks on toes.

I definitely relate to this poem. It describes my childhood so well. The socks on toes were a necessity, even when we went to bed. Very nice rhyming scheme.

Such a cute poem. I like the last line, 'socks on toes'. When it's cold outside, we are always warmer if our feet/toes are covered. So we do need socks on our feet/toes!
