Your poem has gently encouraged me to make a gratitude list ... I have spent the past three years grieving my husband, who died on Christmas morning ... but he left me so many wonderful, happy memories ... I must focus on those now. Thank you for offering this!

Thank you, Terry, for your review, thoughts and stars. I sympathize,
I lost my wife of 60 years 5 years ago.

Time zooms so quick - we enter another year before we're really finished with the old one - but each year, I think we learn something new - that's a good thing.
Good poem of reminder.

I loved the phrase about looking the new year straight in the eye. What a nice poem this is. Your words compliment the image you chose and it put a smile on my face. Hugs, Lou

"Look the New Year straight in the eye" Your picture was perfect for that line.
What great advice you have included in your New Year's poetry challenge.
Best wishes for the next year.

A reminder to be grateful and leave the disappointments behind. So important to focus on the potential of the brand new year, without the baggage of years past. Happy new year, judester

Thank you for your timely advice, Willie. I wonder why, in your charming illustration, Father Time has ceded his scythe to Baby New Year. (Whatever the old guy does with it, it's much too heavy for the kid to handle. (I'd sure like to watch his maturing, and see his transition from babyhood, to the one-year-old with a long white beard.)
Happy New Year!

I enjoyed your poem, Willie. You give readers some great advice about looking ahead and not back. We can't change the past--just learn from it. Good job with your descriptive words/phrases and rhymes. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully, Jan
