I like it. It's well written.
Twelve lines, sonnet structural format enclosing a dolorous touched ending momento of family's terrestrial common love before the eternal departure of their unique caring beloved mother. Perfectly described and felt among the narrative story lined content. My condolence.

Oh, how beautiful and moving is this poem. Having lost my mother last year, it really resounded in my heart. How lucky we were to have them in our lives, and how fortunate we were to be with them at their passing. I can see where you get your caring heart now.

Thank you, Yvonne. I wrote this about a year ago but did not post. I have been going through and selecting poems to try to do initial publishing effort and realized it had not yet been posted.
Thank you for your kind consideration.

What a precious poem, capturing that unique moment of grief and letting go. "Yet the coldness of her hand did not lessen the warmth of her heart" Wow, what a line! Thanks for sharing. I know holidays we can miss our families most at the holidays.

A very touching account of your other's passing on, Reminded me of my own Mother's passing on. Death is a reality and life goes on, although our memories remain our lifetime.
My condolences, Friend, Jerry

This is a great poem to celebrate your Mom's legacy, Nottoway. Yes, it is poignant at the same time; but, readers are left with the feeling that your Mom had a good life and did wish for you and your sister to be happy and carry on with your lives. Your Mom would watch from above. Your lines flow smoothly, and there is great imagery. Thanks for sharing this memory. Respectfully, Jan

Than you so very much.
Life definitely was not easy but she treated everyone with love.
Anyone in the area knew who you were talking about whenever someone would mention "Miss Clara" or "Mama Claire"
