Nicely done with this Candlelight poetry form JLR. Lovely descriptions using the jewels as the stars that glow in the night sky. Enjoyed it,
cheers

Hi Jim. This is a really nicely composed poem in the candlelight form. But it's not the form that works so well, it's your word choices that make the piece, especially the last line. Marilyn

Interesting use of this form. The stem of the candlestick suggests the falling of the star(s). However, there seems to be some confusion in the number as the poem progresses. You start with several stars but in these lines they are reduced to 'each one':
each
one
shine(s)
glow(s)
gleam(s)
flare(s)

I've read a couple of these candlelight poems and I bet they are more difficult to write than they appear to be. Short forms are most deceiving that way.

That said, your poem is shaped nicely and just as important filled with vibrant verbs and nouns to create fine imagery.

Very nicely written, J.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This is a most difficult rhyming scheme and syllabic count, but you mastered it well in your verse. The subject matter and photographic image are also well selected. Good luck in the contest... ...ec

This is a beautiful presentation and unique in its formatting. I have seen many falling stars in my almost 82 years of life.
May you have a blessed and joyful Christmas.

Well.....I don't think I can count the falling stars I've seen but most of them have been a long time ago when children were young and we spent evening outside. Now...where we live there are so many neighborhood lights that I doubt many of those around us have ever seen one.

Very nicely done and Merry Christmas
Blessings and thanks for the reminder of simpler times.

Such a beautiful poem. I can't say that I've seen many falling stars, but reading your poem makes me want to see some! I loved the ending line too " But the stars that fall go dark."

You brought all the gems to our eyes with your candlelight poem here. Stars hold such magical mystery for us because they make us feel part of the universe and this can be euphoric, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

A wonderfully expressive poem with delightful visuals and fabulous accompanying art choice. I enjoyed the specific gems you named the stars and then the ending was really a nice punch. Made me go: "Wow. Surprise" So well crafted.
