Interesting dialogue between your characters. I find it interesting that Charles is willing to sneak around without a passport, even if it means finding himself in the boot of the car for an hour or more. I can't even image how confining and uncomfortable that would be. That must mean he is truly in love with Helen. I hope they find her soon.

Jumping in mid-story, but I think I was on to the essence of the happenings.
Loved the "minor avalanche" ... masters of understatements amuse me.
"Bisto was digging into a large slice of pawpaw, seemingly without a care in the world..." I could see that happening.
"She'd be an expensive accessory." Ouch! Nice touch.
Enjoyed. Looking forward to the next installment.

Jumping in mid-story, but I think I was on to the essence of the happenings.
Loved the "minor avalanche" ... masters of understatements amuse me.

Kayla's reaction to the banter is certainly typical of the modern woman. I would have thought that the boot of the car would be the first place even the the most lax border guard would look, but we shall see what we shall see.
I remember the friend with whom I stayed in Sri Lanka used to liven up papaya with a squeeze of lime and apparently they are not the same fruit. Lime certainly livens up the more delicately tasting fruits of the Far East.

I wouldn't risk it. Lively dialogue between the players moves this along but there is a lull in the action here for a couple of chapters and i'm waiting for the tempo to go back up again estory

Sir Abdul interrupted. "Mr Brandon and I have already met. On two occasions, actually." He put a protective arm around Genevieve's shoulder. "Haven't we, my dear?" - Have we met Genevieve before? If not, this is the first mention of her so perhaps it should be 'his wife's shoulder' at this point. Forgive me if I'm being thick.

I don't think I'd relish an hour in the boot of a car over unmade roads. The poor chap probably won't be in very good shape when he arrives!
Abdul introduced Genevieve to Charles when they passed each other on the stairs the day before. I'll see how obvious this is when I read the whole of the first draft and rearrange the chapter breaks.
I've been thinking of you over the past few days. Hope you are surviving the hot weather. Our turn tomorrow. Adelaide expects 40C plus for the next four days in a row. We're a few degrees cooler on the coast, but still quite hot enough! Even down here, we have 44C forecast for Friday. Sounds like a good opportunity to batton down the hatches and finish off this book!

When it's a while between chapters, I forget stuff. That's my excuse anyway. lol We haven't got to 44 yet, thank goodness. I'm always pleased to be retired when/if the weather is foul and we don't have to go out.
