I met a woman from the Philippians and asked her if her Christmas shopping was done. She said, "In the Philippians, Christmas is all about Jesus not gifts." Good luck in the contest.

Thank you! What a true and honest reply!

This is a good poem to enter in this contest. I have heard of silver
but not present-silver. I like the way the present-silver is served on
a salver. Good luck.

I think this is a good entry for the Holiday Obscure Word 7-9-7 writing prompt.
Your word seems truly obscure: present-silver.
I'd never heard of it. Thank you for introducing it to us.

I have a very good vocabulary, and I'm ashamed to say I had to look up the word salver, so I learned a new word today, thank you for that! The small poem is very well presented. The image is great, and it looks as though all of the coins are indeed silver. Great poem, particularly when only allowed to use a certain number of syllables.
Nice job,

My favorite kind of gift! I remember those envelopes where the presidential faces peek out from the stocking. They usually came from relatives far away.

I have to admit something. I learned 2 new words in this 7-9-7. Present-silver and salver. I made an assumption on what a salver was, but I wanted to be certain, so I looked it up. I would be be grateful to have either a gift of present-silver or a salver to be honest.
Cute holiday poem. Thank you for sharing! Good luck in the contest! Blessings, MB

Well that is what my grandchildren are getting this year! Money as a gift. I'm glad you explained what that meant, I'd never heard of it before. Well done, you succeeded and the poem was really good. :)) Sandra xxx

Your syllable count is correct to the writing prompt.
Real silver coins, that alone is obscure.
I enjoyed reading this worthy contest entry.
Best wishes!
