This is a great contest entry, Mystery Author. I really like the rhymes. Good job with the syllable count per line. Your art choice works well, too. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

This is very thought provoking. Not only does the tap root not sway in the breeze, but nothing about it changes color in the fall or changes green in the spring. The only change is that it grows deeper and stronger

This is so true and this is the secret of trees, they keep this safe from our eyes as tree roots lift up roads and buildings over time! They are so powerful, I enjoyed your poignant words here, love Dolly x

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about the taproot that makes the tree immovable. They become strong anchors in the forest that become giants over many years.

I love the accompanying artwork you chose to go with your very strong contest entry. The taproot is the beating heart of the tree then ? damage the root and the tree will die? Good luck!

Of course, like the foundations of a building or house, it's what all structures stand or fall on, scripture talks of roots within oneself as being the course our life depends on. Well done, good entry in this contest, good luck. Blessings, Roy

This 5-7-5, Forest Anchors, has the right set up and sets our minds at ease that the changing times and current chaos doesn't affect the foundation from which our beliefs sprout.

And downnnn it goes, which suggests why these forest giants survive dry spells much better than the shallow-rooters- or us, come to that! They're tippling down below.
