I'm giving you six stars for the combination of a good story and a proud mother expressing genuine, healthy love for her son. That is great to see in today's crazy world. Thanks for sharing in a creative way the story about his uniqueness. Bill

Thanx so much for your wonderful comments, Bill - he is an angel and (still!) my most 'challenging' child -- but I love him to the moon! :) It is certainly a crazy world, though, and I'm glad my boys are (mostly!) grown! ;) Your awesome comments and those shiny stars are so very appreciated -- THANK YOU, sir!! ;)

This is a lovely true story {thumbs up}. Although you say he was precocious, it sounds as if Benjamin didn't fully appreciate the talents he'd been blessed with - oh, the innocence of five-year-olds; they seem to take everything for granted {winks}.

On a whim, I brought him to audition for the city-wide production of Christmas Carol. -- I'd word it "I took him". I'm guessing "brought him" is a colloquialism.

Best of luck with the competition {smiles}.

Thanx so much for your wonderful comments, Alex - he is an angel and (still!) my most 'challenging' child -- but I love him to the moon! :) Think I'll stick with the colloquialism... ;) :) :)
Please forgive my 'running behind' again and 'short response'... as mid-terms close in, my tutoring schedule has ballooned and my 'free time' has all but vanished! Exams are next week so there is a light at the end of the tunnel - LOL! :) A very Merry Christmas to you from my little corner of the world!! ;) Yvette

-Wonderful photo and
story, Yevette.
-Thanks for sharing it
and the notes, too.
-He must be very gifted
musically to do "La Boheme!"
-I like the introduction,
showing how much he
loved to sing, and how
amazing that he did so well
at the audition, singing "Ode to Joy," no less!
-I would have had tears of joy, too!
-Great autographs, as well:)
-Kudos to him for graduating
and going to graduate school.
-He's sure he doesn't want to
pursue a performing career?
-Good luck in the contest.

Wow, what a terrific boy you had/have. You have every right to be proud of him. Think of the joy he has brought to so many with his God-given talent, which he loved to use.

My daughter had amazing piano talent and played boogie woogie and fast classical tunes at age five, getting a standing ovation at the school recital. She lost interest, sadly, preferring to ride a horse, so we let her do that instand, buying her one. You have to love what you do... learned that the hard way. I'm glad your son retains his interest and uses his talent! :)

Thanx so much for your wonderful comments, Phyllis - he is an angel and (still!) my most 'challenging' child -- but I love him to the moon! :) It is heartwarming that you let your daughter 'drift' to something else about which she was passionate -- too many parents try to fit their children into a 'hole' that they don't want!! ;) :)

What an adorable write Yvette! I have been at these school plays and shed those tears! This is an amazingly realistic photo! It looks like it was taken at a West End production! Very professional costumes and I just want to hug this little boy of yours, he is so cute. This is a festive write that touched my heart, love Dolly x

Who wouldn't be proud of such a beautiful child and with musical talents?
A wonderful story of a very proud time of your lives. Amazing that he would opt for Electrical Engineer. A lovely presentation.

What a darling boy. I bet this was one of his favorite early memories, too. I was thinking piano lessons can start at age three with Suzuki piano, but I have only ever taught age 4 and up. I did not see anything to improve on, technically or grammatically. The only thing that might be changed is that Charles Dickens has the article "A" in front of "Christmas Carol." I understand in a conversational tone, people might shorten it.

S'all right. With holiday month here, I am thinking I will end up doing only about a quarter of what I was doing last month.

Wow!! At age three? Your boys are exceptional! I can't imagine a three-year-old boy sitting still long enough for a piano lesson!
Is Benjamin the one who made those amazing sculptures? He just started college, right?
You are so blessed, Yvette! And of course, you can brag about your amazing boys!!

Hello Yvette. That's a great story. That's quite an accomplishment for the young lad. It's great when youngsters can be accomplished in more than one thing because I believe they are well-rounded they can adapt easily to their environment. The story is well told and you had good material to work with. Good luck in the contest. Z
