A trout never sees
the ocean
until the rain comes.
An excellent lune in count and content for the contest. I do believe it would be a shock to the trout who is used to a narrower place.

Wow! Science 101 LOL Yep it is a cycle. The water evaporates up into the clouds. Water from every river, lakes, reservoirs, oceans and even the water on the pavement. When they are mixed in the clouds, clouds get too heavy and [t rains over all different kinds of water. Did I pass?
Merry Christmas!

You have effectively used the few syllables allowed for the lune to describe
a fact of nature. The poem and notes informed me of something I had never heard!

Comment from June Sargent
Very clever way of depicting these trout swimming in an ocean. The imagery is clear and the words flow nicely. I enjoyed this short, but imagnative piece. Always a pleasure to see what you will come up with next.

I enjoyed reading this philosophical Lune poem, J... well done. The rain cycle is never ending and does bring the ocean to the stream. I liked that thought! Good write.

Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written Lune about the trout never sees the ocean but the ocean fills up the stream where he swims and lives when it rains. A good thought out title to say oceans of raindrops

Sandra thank you so much. I connect to this so naturally as I am an avid fly fisherman and I am always aware of the connection.
Comment from Therese Caron
I never knew that about trout! And how nice to learn about it in a poem. This is perfect for a Lune contest entry. The words are crisp and concise, and the image is lovely. Nice work

I live on Lake Champlain in the Adirondack mountains. It is gorgeous here and fishing is BIG, including ice fishing.

This Lune Poem, 5/3/5, has a lesson and a philosophical truth as well. I allows the reader to think beyond what to fix for dinner tonight, but about the ins and outs in the vast ocean. At the same time your poem here allowed me to learn about the particulars of a trout.

Thank you, the connection was made easy as I am an avid fly fisherman and Mother nature is at her most vivid presence when in the water.
