Such a sad Christmas poem told so well with such short lines. I lost the excitement of Christmas when I had to do all the preparations. I've concluded that Christmas is most fun for the kids. But the real meaning is good for all of us.
"We knew it wad Dad" (was?)

You have lived a full life and so much to be thankful for, taking care of mom and dad is what children are supposed to do because others don't care even though they claim to love and cherish them. God still has plans for you so never give up.

This meets the contest requirements nicely as you deliver a well penned poetic piece which speaks to the holiday season eloquently. The content is a journey through your Christmases past to the present and you express the changes and regrets beautifully. Good luck in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

This poem's mood switches from the gaiety of spending a Christmas Eve with your siblings to the sadness of present day now that you are alone. You describe that transition in a very poignant fashion. Rod

Very interesting take on how the magic was a long time ago. We often are caught in how things should be happening now. We like to overlook how many people are similar situations. Thanks for expressing this side of Christmas.

Oh, this poem is so beautiful--and so sad it has made me cry. This well-written poem vividly describes sweet memories of times long past. The speaker does have some comforting memories of taking care of the parents.

Oh, this is such a poignant poem. It illustrates the best of Christmas, and also the potential downside of the festive season. It's structured with craft. I hope it does well in the contest. Good luck!

Just one minor point:
We knew it wad Dad -- I assume you meant "was".
