Melissa,

This is a very fine piece of writing! Not sure that those snowflakes provide me any calmness (maybe coldness LOL), but your idea is noteworthy and most descriptive.

Your selected artwork is a good complement for your entry.

Mark

Please send me some. A snow cone is about it for me. I have to recall my seven years in upstate New York and the first snowfalls. It was recalled once again with your lovely poem all dressed in white.
Sending you my best today and for the contest,
Sal xo

Hi Sally. I do hope that you get to experience a bit of snow... somewhere... this winter. Thank you.

I don't think I'd have quite the same reaction to those snowflakes! This is lovely, and an excellent entry for the contest. "Kiss" is an excellent verb. Your rhyme is worked in so smoothly. If the snow makes you feel calm, good for you. Depends on whether you have someone to shovel the driveway. Best of luck in the contest. judi

Thank you Judi. Since you deal with so much of it, perhaps the magic palls quickly. We seldom get snow here, so it is always special. Thanks.

You're welcome. The problem comes when the weather remains cold and the snow stays and stays! judi

Snow and silence seem somehow to be connected. Deep snow has a muffling effect on everyday noise. Silence is calming while noise is frenetic, so perhaps the feel of snow by association is also calming.

I would agree with the sentiments of this poem here.

This is a very nicely composed and illustrated two-line poem which has a sense of calmness (your second line) and peace, Melissa. Good luck in the contest. Marilyn

A very well-written two-line poem about the blessing of snow. It seems any form of water from the skies are able to calm us down and bring us delight within we cannot explain.

Snowflakes are so pretty and delicate, but they are also powerful enough to help us heal and feel refreshed. Unless we are caught in a blizzard...lovely two line poem, Melissa.

I agree that snow is calming as it seems to halt life and growth and slows the pace with its onslaught, a little taste of winter is refreshing, I hope the feeling lasts throughout the winter! Much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Hi Yvette. Thanks bunches. I do love the snowfall here in central Virginia. We do not get too many, so they are all special. :)
