This is wonderful! My grandfather was a landscape artist and used to grow rubber tree plants, so your poem resonates with me. I think you will do well in the contest. Good luck!

You presents a great argument for the prompt, Mystery Author. Your words flow well with great rhymes and imagery. Your picture choice is a great pairing with your well-chosen words. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully with Love, Jan

Beautiful, just touching. My eyes got misty reading this love letter. My grandmother had a rubber plant and when I would visit she would have me "dust" the leaves with a cotton-ball and watered down milk. I hadn't thought of that in over a decade until I read your entry. Thank you.
Good luck in the contest. Blessings, MB

This poem was so emotional. I totally understand the need to hold on to things loved ones have left behind. I feel that your mom would be proud of you for attempting to take care of her favorite plant. We cant all have green thumbs unfortunately but I can tell you care. Excellent poem with a touching sentiment. You deserve your six stars

Truly a real enjoyable poem to read! If I were to change anything, it would be that I would give breaks in your sentences and paragraphs. It would make it easier to read but with that being said, your poem is extremely well written and the words flow well, except for the much needed breaks.
Example:

I promise you
if you please revive

I'll do my best
to keep you alive

sweet Rubber tree
who mom loved dear,

don't leave me now
just stay right here.

This, or something similar, would make it easier to read instead of it r all together like it is now. Excellent job! Thank you for sharing! Blessings ...

Thank you for reading. I usually break up my poems into stanzas, but in this case l thought it seemed ok as it was. I really appreciate your feedback. :)

I appreciate your passion that I see in your poem! Yes, all your words run together and no room for thought or breath. However, excellent poem!

What appears to be a light-hearted ditty is actually a poignant tribute to the Speaker's mom. We SEE the wilting plant, but then the focus switches to Mom and we see how the Speaker FEELS as she remembers her fondly caring for all her plants. At the end, we, too, are hoping the rubber plant survives. Rod

Nice poem, I think it's a good entry for this dying houseplant competition. It flows well and if I were the plant I would do my best to recover. Thanks for the great feedback and have a really great day

It is a good and depressing poem about a daughter trying to keep the last thing about her mother still alive. The poem did what it is supposed to, make you sad and rhyme that's why I'm giving six stars.

This is really a 6-star poem (I used up my sixes). Oh, I felt your anxiety on the health of this your memory-filled plant. Your poem makes me wish I could swirl a magic wand over it and make it perk up! That's how good your work is. Wonderful rhymes and a good flow to the rhythm. A VERY strong contender in the competition.
