Hello Mystery Poet!
This poem is great and worthy of 6 stars. You are such a wonderful person to promote the positivity of getting older. If all people learned to see the best in the golden years, these years would be something to look forward to instead of running away from.
I truly hope you win the contest!!
Thank you for sharing your wisdom!!

Thank you so much for this wonderful review. I really appreciate it. Being old isn't bad at all. I worked hard to get here. lol. Thank you for the good wishes.

This is a well-written abcb rhyming posting with a bit of whimsy and a lot of common sense in a refreshing perspective. At some point, 'Elderlyitis' will be experienced by everyone who has reached the point of entering their 'golden years'. I especially enjoyed the concluding verse! :-)

Your well-written, descriptive poem is an appealing blend of serious comments about growing older and light humor about those changes.
Good use of specifics

Thank you.

It is true that aging can be very beneficial in that we have, after a certain age, much more leisure time in which to indulge our wishes. Reading of course, although always a favorite, becomes more intense and adds layers of learning upon our already piled up information. So you make many good points in your artful rhyming poem. Connect that with your visual addition and you have an enjoyable presentation.

Thank you for a great review.

It's nice to read a poem about getting old without all the complaining.
There is a lot to be said and you did....speaking your mind, challenges, and learning. Most of all trying to keep happy.
Good luck with the contest.

A very well-written poem about the good things about getting older there are a few things we lost along the way but what we gained is priceless super powers that none believes is true.

Absolutely. We can enjoy the advantages. Thank you.

I'd give this 6 stars if I had them. This is a poignant and an amusing poem. The amusing part is the last stanza. You get to be totally yourself and speak what you wish no holds barred. It speaks of having earned the good parts of aging and making do or creatively managing the down parts such that they aren't so down. A wonderful attitude throughout. And you have time to do the things you didn't before.

I can see you 'get' it. There are so many advantages to old age. I'm loving it.
Comment from Jannypan (Jan)
Well, you certainly earned everything you mentioned, Mystery Author. Your lines/words flow smoothly with great rhymes. Each line adds more to your story about enjoying your elderly years only because of what your earlier years taught you. I like the lines about continuing to learn new things at your age. There is not limit to what one can learn. The lines about saying anything on your mind are hilarious and true. Reading others' thoughts is a great skill that you have honed over your years of interacting with . . .people. You have seen/heard enough to know what's what and aren't afraid to speak your mind. Great job and thanks for sharing. Best wishes. Respectfully with Love, Jan

You've made it and you might as well enjoy it. You've earned it. I'm almost a senior. I plan on enjoying my retirement. The old brain and imagination are still good. Maybe we can write bestsellers!
