A very lilting and rhyming poem full of all the wonderful things that come with Christmas and all of the wonderful things we do at Christmastime. The thrill of our children really does make our Christmas and this stunning picture you have chosen makes your presentation super.

A very well-written Christmas poem. We often forget the real reason of Christmas time. Our children must learn about Jesus Christ who came to save our sins.

Absolutely! It is often lost in the hustle and bustle of shopping and cooking! This is how Christmas was when I was young! I try to keep the tradition of story reading with my own grandchildren and great-grandchildren with focus on learning about our Savior! xoxo

Hello Diana. I like the mixture of contemporary Christmas celebrationwhich you join to the real meaning of Christmas which is the birth of Christ. I love the song You've included and my favorite version is the one by Mark Lowry, who wrote the song. Robert

Ahhhhh, the Christmases of old that I fear we shall never see again... but oh, what wonderful times they were!! ;) :) This is such a melodic and nostalgically rhythmic offering, Diana, that warms the reader both in their heart and mind!! ;) :) Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;) Yvette

So happy I could bring back memories of simpler times! I drew inspiration from my own childhood. My grandmother never failed to bring Christ to the forefront of the dressing! Thank you so my for reading! xoxo

A lovely rhyming Christmas poem telling both sides of the season. I do love the old style artwork you've chosen, for me Christmas is about the traditions we carry forward. A lovely read,

This is a lovely poem, Diana. You capture a lot of my childhood memories of Christmas time, except for the sugar plums which I have always wondered what they were. You make me miss my parents and grandparents who gave me such wonderful holidays. Nostalgic is the right word for this poem. And it's perfect for a Christmas poetry contest.

Thank you! I pulled from the memories of Christmas time with my grandparents, so I know what you mean as I miss them so dearly. And sugar plums are little pieces of hard confection candy made in an oval shape. Nothing to do with a plum at all! Haha! Glad This brought back precious memories for you as well! xoxo

I have seen that candy. I just didn't know it was called sugar plums.

The name is a little deceiving for sure! Haha!

These kinds of Christmas memories you elaborate on are pretty universal, and the last line of the poem reminds any reader that there is something to Christmas far beyond any of the fun traditions. I like how books are included in as part of teaching about Christmas. Nice post, sweet art.
