It is a sad time in our shared history for both (or all) parties in the political arena, Mystery Author. One side held closed hearings yet commented publicly in snarky comments. One side responded in like. Neither side seems to care about the job for which they were elected. What legacy will each leave? Whatever it is, the future generations will be dealing with it for years. Best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

Jan, thank you I certainly love your adjective SNARKY yes, and more on both sides. Shame on the whole lot of them....

I suspect the world in general is looking at a bleak future. If America could look to God for mercy like it once did, instead of verbally crucifying its leadership, perhaps there may be some hope. The criticism I've been hearing for a long time now is more frightening than the leadership itself, they reflect the electorate not the other way around. But well done, well written, blessings Roy

Roy, I could not agree more. This is my worst nightmare..we just held a local election in a community with a voting block of roughly 19,000 voters. 3,475 voted, slightly over 18% and now we are going to prevent putting in bike paths and prevent winding very high traffic, winding roadways. People simply don't care and are uninformed.

We have compulsory voting here, so most turn out, but about 10% are issue voters I?m afraid, but more laid back here, not as politically vehement I guess. A little apathetic I think.

Me, too. I can hardly read the news and stick to my 'Wall Street Journal' for the best and most accurate run down of this coup. It really is a coup d'état, planned since day one.
This is so appreciated and I thank you for speaking up. We certainly need to keep praying until our nation returns to God and our values.
Sending you my best today as always,

You've written an excellent poem for the short poem contest
with addition of a nice rhyme.
Unfortunately, compromise which is the center of success
is no longer considered by the current self-centered politicians on both sides.
Many great countries and civilization fall from within,
hopefully there will be leaders to correct the current path.
Well done
Best wishes to you.

your words are so true. I love America and the state that I live in....values are so important. How we look at our government is important, too. I'm hoping there's a turn around and things will get better.

This piece by (Mr.? Ms.?) A. Nonymous is concise and on-point. As political statements go, this poem, unlike most screeds, is focused with laser-like precision. God have mercy on America.

It is not only America that is run by shameless politicians my friend, it seams to be an epidemic that is spreading across the globe. We live in a world where people(the press) seam to get pleasure from tearing people apart for sport which is of course because they have their own agendas.
I don't believe the impeachment will do either party any favors and you... the American people have the choice/chance to vote Trump out next year anyway. If you don't it will just show the world how divided and broken your country is unfortunately.

A very well-written short poem about the fate of America due to the politicians that seem to forget they are in office to serve the people not themselves.

I want to congratulate you because I don't think you could have said anything that was more the truth and you did it with just 15 words.
I'm 74 and an old Vietnam vet. And, I totally agree with every word you said. I was never concerned or worried about our country throughout my entire life until this president took office.
I to am fearful of what our younger generation will have to face going forward. God help them...
I wish you the best of luck in the contest. You have my vote even without reading the other entries because they could not say anything more powerful than your words...
God help us all and God bless America...Bill
