Nice job! Great image you picked for your "Tanka-like" poem! I've always wanted to visit Alaska and your poem took me away for a bit of time. Where might I purchase your "Animals Become Chatty" book?--Karenina

thanks for your endorsement of this Alaskan-based theme
you can preview my ebook at Amazon books - you can then see the front and back covers; there is a page for each letter of the alphabet - I intentionally included animals that are not found in typical animal picture books
since there is no crib sheet, not all will be known to the viewer/reader - I will be happy to provide you the 'answers'
if you like it, the ebook will cost you $2.99 to get a copy - the hard cover version is not on my bucket list to do (-;

Thanks for the info!--Karenina

Isn't the Aleut the musher (or an Aleutian musher)? ... it was just a little confusing with the two separate references... Tanka form is good with syllables... ;) Thanx for sharing... Yvette

Yvette,
Yep an Aleutian musher or sledder. Thought to use the more descriptive word rather to repeat 'musher.' I never actually recall meeting either, but I do know about Balto who brought the medicine that the children needed. His statue is in NYC's Central Park.

I love the magnificent imagery you selected to depict the landscape beauty but also the rough terrain the Aleut people have to travel. Thank God for their beautiful, strong and intuitive huskies.
Well done.
Kind regards.

Great job with this short poem about a dog race in extreme weather. That takes an extreme breed of animal and human to cooperate for handling that situation. Thanks for presenting this with creativity.
