I love the clubs on this site. This poem is wonderfully written and I love the picture. That's just like a man, keep her dry while he steams. Best of luck with your writing!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Thanx so much for your review on my Red and Romeo, Mike. ;) :) Please know that your reviews are always so very appreciated!! ;) Yvette
My apologies for running behind this week -- one of our science teachers had to take a leave of absence to care for her mom and I crazily volunteered to review/mark-up the physics & chemistry science project papers for her and meet with students as necessary....what was I thinking??! lol! I am now fully reminded why I ONLY teach mathematics -- I hardly have to think with pure numbers!! :) :)

Hello Yvette, this is a great take on the picture. A perfect ekphrastic poem. Great rhyme in abcb form and written in a style you would expect from the couple in the picture. I reread it and could not think of one stanza that outshone the other. All excellent. A challenge well met. Warm regards Dorothy x

This meets the Club Challenge nicely as you deliver a complete and engaging tale about the artwork in true poetic fashion. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

A very well-written poem and an excellent interpretation of the pix this challenge. Many couples grow close to each other over the years that they know what the other thinks.

Yvette,
A very cool interpretation of the picture this image. *smile* That's the same thing I feel is going on in here. These guys have been together forever and they will certainly work it out. hahaha Thanks! Fun!

Thanks for explaining where the name Red came from. I have heard of Romeo. That name sounds vaguely familiar. Great job coming up with a humorous and insightful story about an old couple who know each other very well.

I say being married that long take patience, understanding, and working together to make it work. In today's day and age no one wants to stay together anymore.

Red is my favorite color. Pink, too. This is prescious and heartwarming, Yvette. Their generation was more matter-of-fact about love. It scary, I'm starting to feel like that.
Oh, dear . . . .
Sending you my best today as always. :)

This gorgeous drawing has inspired some great poems. This is at least the third I've read and they've all been great. It doesn't matter how many years you've been married, there can still be differences of opinion. Have a great day.

You captures the essence of the rift between them here, but his heart is true and nothing changes in relationships even as we age! I loved that this pair tied the knot and will be together through thick and thin, a sensitive and enjoyable write Yvette, love Dolly x
