This is really beautiful. I guess as a man, we anticipate this, but, it pales in comparison to what a woman feels. A new life budding and growing inside ready to be born. It being so close to you and it being a part of you, why would anyone want to give it up? I enjoyed this Sugar and the anticipation you created in this inspirational and well written work. Well done!

This was written for an Advent Devotional for our church. I just thought I would share it on FS. Thanks so much, Jeffrey!

Hello Melissa, a lovely poem about the birth of John the Baptist. Well written with good rhyme and the story is well told. A good final, well thought-out ending -
She sits on her cushion beneath rays of sunlight,
her infant son snugly held safe to her heart.
Aware there are others that whisper of greatness,
yet savors the sweetness her newborn imparts.
Lovely - there cannot be anyone who has not hear of John the Baptist - author notes not really needed. Well done - regards Dorothy x

An excellent example of headless anapaestic religious poetry. This paraphrases the chapter in Luke, Chapter 1 that concludes with the meeting of the Blessed Virgin Mary with Elizabeth and the prayer known as the Magnificat.
