How blessed you were and knowing that is everything. It's like having wings when there are people behind us that buoy us along. How comforting it is to read your poem and your artwork is stellar.

With you as her grandparent she will at least have the surrounding family love that you had and from there, who knows?

Thanks for the encouraging review Sharon. My mom and I had some laughs about it and all her kooky projects throughout the years. Cheers.

This is an appealing nostalgic poem that conveys a strong message about the power of memory, the blessings of a good childhood and the ability to call up those memories and bask in them.

Thanks for the insightful review Janice. I remind my mom often what a great mom she was to us six kids (and I know that wasn't easy) she was fun and adventurous with clever projects that still make me smile.
One C'mas, she got my artist sister to paint a happy monk playing the organ on a lit up 3 sided panel, then she piped organ music from inside. I was coming home late and could hear loud organ music from blocks away, and I just knew it was my mom, ha ha. My huckleberry mom. Cheers.

What a delightful recollection of your childhood and all that helped mold you into who you are today. "Funny how the little things fill our hearts so wistfully. " So true.

Thanks for the insightful review. My mom made us six kids our red felt stockings with little bells and embroidered names. She was kooky with projects, one year she had my artist sister paint a happy monk playing the organ on a panel lit up, then had organ music outside, but it was too loud. I was blocks away, coming home tipsy and just laughed, knowing that it was our house. Bless, cheers.

A very well-written poem about childhood memories that we are always reminded about when Christmas time is upon us. We are taken back to our childhood Christmases.

There is just something about homemade stockings and Christmas trees that I love. My mom was fun to grow up with with her little projects and adventurous spirit. We all turned out great. Our house was the one with music blaring and all the kids having a place to go in hard and good times. Many of my friends still call her mom.
She gave me wings to fly and I call her my huckleberry mom. Thanks for the review, cheers

Thanks for the insightful review. Our house was the safe place for many kids. Okay, maybe the music was too loud and my sisters were always up to something, but it was always home.
My mom would do these crazy projects for Christmas and once she had my artist sister make her a big painted panel with a little monk playing the organ accompanied by organ music that she had playing...a bit loud. I remember coming home ( a little tipsy) and could hear organ music from blocks away. Somehow I knew my mother was behind it. All my friends call her mom and that says a lot, cheers.
