I don't do very well with prompts requiring poems with certain words!
NOT SO for you. Your poem is creatively-written and SO moving in conveyance of theme. It is perfectly natural to say "Why?" sometimes; we're only human.

Over and over I ask "why, God, why?" No matter how much time I spend in prayer, meditation, Bible study, pastoral counseling and religious retreats at the local monastery, that question still lingers in my mind. You did a remarkable job of using those words in your poem. They flow so well and do not seem the least bit contrived to fit in. I especially love your meerschaum pipe. I hope you win the contest with this one.

A very well-written poem and use of the prescribed words. We do things that we know are not good for our health and when we are dying we ask God why we are sick.

This is a powerful reminder of how our days are numbered here on this earth. I loved your use of all of the required words because you conveyed vivid and tangible images. The subject matter is so sensitive to so many people that have been affected by cancer, but it is indeed an honestly painted picture.

You did a great job at meeting the requirements of this contest. The image was perfect for this piece. As many people ask "why God why?". You are also correct that cancer is a terrible illness. Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest. Blessings. ~Brenda

Howdy Friend,
You not alone with the big "W" WORD TO
GOD. I just recently fell down and crushed my right shoulder and arm (I'm right handed) had total shoulder
replacement, but had so torn up my shoulder that the shoulder replacement wasn't possible, so now I live with a stiff right arm and trying to learn to be lefty. (try wiping your but with your left hand if you are right handed. I got more of the shit on my hand then on the toilet paper.)

But as I said, you not the only one who prays "Why Me Lord?" Jesus prayed the same prayer as He was dying on the cross for our sins. "Why have you forsaken me?"
Matthew 27:46

The reason being He had my and your sins upon Him, and God cannot look upon sin, and so had turned HIs back upon Jesus, who represented sinful humanity. Jesus also prayed for you and me and the entire world of humanity; "Father forgive them for they know not what they do"

God has forgiven you of all your sins, past, present and even future sins,(God knows what sins we are going to commit). However you must believe in Jesus Christ as your sin-bearer and personal Savior,as I did, in order to receive His forgiveness. Make sense?

Go ahead and pray to God, thanking Him for Jesus suffering in your stead for all your sins, then express your faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

I so, welcome your honest and obvious deep faith and conviction. We all must turn toward Him at every opportunity.

Definitely format fitting and structured in a believable lamentation story setting, after reading the poem I saw the notes to see if it was a true tale. Blessings and Good Luck in the contest.
