I appreciated this poem with its slight rhyme. The picture is striking and colorful and very well suited to the words. The poem is an excellent contest entry. I enjoyed reading it.

Thanks for the review. I love those woodpeckers and the sound they make. Once there was a woodpecker pecking and I took a quarter and tapped in the same rhythm on my enamel tabletop, much louder and it flew away.
My friend said because he figured there was a bigger bird around. The next time I heard him pecking I tapped very softly, so he stayed, figuring he was the boss bird, ha ha bless, cheers.
