Jessie, I just call 'em like I see 'em. As a new poet myself that was the most important thing to me was that my readers "feel" my word because in my opinion that was the absolute highest form of prepare that a writer, especially a poet, that any could ask for! You have really raw talent and it's evident from the way you put words together and I'm going to bet that the words just flow out of you and it comes together pretty fast! Am I right? I know it affects me that way and very little editing is needed after I'm done! That's a real gift from God in my book! Keep writing, you're very talented my friend! Blessings 😊

Thank you. I think/feel you are on the right track, with having the reader feel, the written words you write. Sometimes, the words come quickly, but I still need to finetune the poem to the best of my ability. You keep writing, too. I'm sure you'll find a home at Fan Story.

An interesting poem, Jesse, which explores a universal theme. I'm not sure that anyone is really completely satisfied with their performance in this world. Your nautical metaphor is well developed and appropriate, indicating the turbulence we sometimes feel in our minds. I think your allusion the actors in a play is a telling one. No matter how good an actor's performance may be, there is always that niggling doubt, wondering if they could have done better. It is only by questioning that we improve.
