Thank you for sharing your older, free verse and its inspiration regarding your broken relationship with your uncle. I am certain most readers could relate to your experience and your memories. I admired your comparing the "face" to a "window" and your admitting you focused on the details in the environment rather than what you wanted to tell a significant person in your life. Sighs- Joan

Thanks so much for the excellent review and your wonderful comments supporting the poem. Your take on it validates the work I put into it; the poem seems to have gotten across this feeling of frustration at an incomplete relationship estory

An evocative piece that suggests far more than the words actually say. I get a good sense of the relationship being described. How sad it is that we often leave too late the things that ought to have been said.

I really liked it. You are watching him, while he's constantly looking beyond you, to what is happening outside those windows. Well done, earlier you!

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on the poem. I wanted to create a sense of a relationship that had a fragile connection, but could have been much more. estory

I enjoyed this piece of free verse, that gives examples of the regrettable lack of communication that can occur between tow people, inevitably resulting in lost opportunities -- the opportunities not taken, because we chickened oyut of saying what we really wanted to say and made banal comments instead.

Dear Author, I enjoyed your authors notes almost as much as I enjoyed the poem. I think you did an excellent job of describing those tangential relationships that do haunt us from time to time! And they do haunt! Do they not?

You set the scene here and your poem is atmospheric and filled with memories of someone special and a lingering ghostly vision of what was once, love Dolly x

You have such a way with words.
Your writing tends to unlock memories,
and it's as though we can see ourselves
in your poetry.
This is beautiful.
I especially like the
'window, on the other side of the street.'
Wonderful,
blessings...

And what a wonderful job you have done with this free verse, e. I can certainly relate in terms of an aunt, but most similar.

The fragmented imagery is strong despite no direct connection the relationship is alluded to with a series of bridges, trains and windows.

I like this one a lot. :)

Thanks for the excellent review and for your wonderful perspectives on the poem. I am glad that it seems you got the feeling of what I was trying to get across here; the sense of a relationship that has some fragile threads connecting it, but also the sense that it could have been something much more. estory

This is a poignant poem as it speaks of having little recall of one whom we could have loved, but for some reason it did not happen.
