Hello Chrissy, long time no see! This is a good ekphrastic poem written true to form. I've not heard of a Constanza before, but this is one of yours is well written. I like the following stanza -
To stop this urge I think I might
turn off this flood and dam the wall,
rein in this constant waterfall.... good use of metaphor in this stanza.
Regarding your final stanza - I don't believe you - of course you will write again, LOL! Warm regards Dorothy xx

A Very well-written Constanza about feeling some times we do things in vain and we feel like stop doing it. That is the time you should write more and more, even if you write only a list of what you like to do.

The marionette with the broken strings is an interesting picture choice. Is that the feeling you have about your writing? - are you feeling broken or neglected or in need of support? I hope not, but sometimes those feelings make us feel we are ineffective and can lead to us not doing things we have previously enjoyed. I enjoy reading your poetry, so please, I hope the poem is just expressing some fleeting mood. You have written it so well, you clearly have a gift for poetic expression.

Great job with the constanza form, Christine! But no, please don't put your pen down. Keep writing! It's always fun to see you back here and hope is all well. I just read that Maria is leaving the site for a couple of years.

Chris,
Don't you ever even talk like that. We all have those moments when the words and thoughts don't come as easily (I'm going through that now) but it will return. We just have to hang in and be patient. Hugs!

Hi Robyn OK OK I won't just a moment I think and perhaps a reflection of my job which I am about to semi retire from I feel a little burnt out going back to a demanding position after a great relaxing holiday so this is probably a result. Do you read MJ ? Did you see she is leaving?? Not happy.
-
What a shame she is a good writer
-
I know. I always look forward to her ff pieces. ?sigh?
-
Perhaps she will come back sooner with a bit of luck
-
She said she?s towing a two-yr novel writing class. (I think)
Anyway. My POINT is you need to stay put. We have plenty of loooooneys; gotta keep our treasures.

I think this is a well written verse for the Potlach Club challenge.
You've mantained the form and still created a verse that reads smoothly about writing and the reasons we do so.
Well done.

Comment from Cindy Warren
I think if I put the pen down and never wrote another word, I'd burst. I suspect that's true for most of us writers. We do it because it's part of who we are. I can't seem to stop for very long.

Don't give up Christine, we would all be robbed of your wonderful writing expertise, then where would we be. I must admit, I've wondered what life was about when I did not write, but that was awhile ago. Now I have a new career, (it doesn't pay much) well done, a wonderful Constanza, well done, blessings, Roy

This was enjoyable to read Christine. It really made me think about all the doubts, the reasons to stop, the reasons to continue. In conclusion I thought of all the friends I have made that I would miss. Your narrative notes provided great information. It had a good rhyme pattern and was both enjoyable and comfortable to read. Well done.
