I am ten years older than you and I have learned to let most problems take care of themselves. I'm sure that SSI are aware you are still living after having spoke to you and receiving your form. Linda is trying to take care of you too. LOL You are lucky to have so many friends. Mine are all dead but I still have my children, Thank God! Settle down now and enjoy life. It is worth the time. Yes, I realize I a lucky to have so may frieds that actualy care about my welfare. I try not to get upset so much when Linda tries to step in and help. She means well and care for me very much. I have to giggle that when I reach 100 SSI may send someone down here to make sure I am really still alive... or they may request I return to the US to prove I am still alive. Turning 100 is a big deal for them, me to I guess.

I had to update my new address with them. Linda was concernd that they would cancel my November check if they learned that I had moved. I still bank at the same bank so none of that has changed.

Oh what the hell..your Friend means well and it could be she is bored stiff and needs you more than you need her. The Spanish thing ... just keep at it ... it will give you something to do while you get better.

Yes, I know she means well and nothing could sto me from trying to learn Spanish. I need to be able to communicate with my new neighbors.

This is well penned and a compelling read. It makes me think of my Mom and how she is constantly on me to update life insurance and such - it frustrates me NOT because she is a nag but because I know her reasons are simply to get as much money as possible when I die. Sad, but true. Hang in there, eventually things will get better.

Thanks for understanding my frustration. Linda worries about my funeral expenses and wants me to plan for it... I don't care where they burry me, I will be dean and it will no longer be my problem.

That's kind of the way I feel about it. My soul is eternal so what they choose to do with the earthly remains makes no difference to me as long as my soul is clear and intact.

Change is difficult to handle the older we get. Just nod and smile when people start bossing you around, then tune out. If you think you've attended to the paper work OK, then relax. How nice to have dinner brought to you - good to have friends.

Social security is soooo confusing. I started taking it last year, but it was quite puzzling to figure out if it was in my best interest to wait. My husband is the same age, and he decided to wait. Who knows.

SSI will continue your benefists as long as you do not live in suspected Terrorist country. Mexico is definitely not on that list, of course Trump may disagree.... LOL

I wish Linda felt the same way. I have a serious short term memory problem that she is convinced is the beginning of dementia. My doctor say it is not and that I am fine.
