Dear Pam, your sweet and loving heart leeks out of this one. I think deer are the most beautiful and gentle creatures God has ever made. Your artwork is lovely, crowning your fine work.

Please accept my six stars for this outstanding piece. Sending you my best today as well,
Sally xoxo

Wow. Sally. Thank you so much for the six stars. I will probably change the title for this one to Dancing Fawn so it can be part of my Natures Dancers series. That is more of a joyful title. It will be the fourth in that series. Thank you for your lovely review

Hi, Pam. Very well written Tanka here. And the painting accompanies it very nicely, thank you. Yes, unfortunately, those glass eyes are staring in a lot of northern living quarters. : ) Bob

This tanka, Mighty Bucks, looks good and tells the hard truth about beautiful game becoming dead showpieces. Life is like that and here we are. Nice painting to inspire your writing work.

Hello Pam, this is very well written on a subject that I find quite sad. How can anyone call this a sport? You make this quite clear in your tanka how there are people who enjoy showing off their 'trophy' hanging on a wall. How much better is it to see the animal happy in the wild. A good poem, written true to form - thank you for posting. Warm regards Dorothy xx

Hi Pam. I enjoyed reading your tanka with its definitive view on deer heads on walls. I personally loathe the practice of mounting animals on walls. Great job on this verse.

Your tanka is in good form, Pam. I enjoyed reading it. You paint a picture of a boastful hunter who is totally cruel in his/her thinking that the life of the deer is only worth a trophy for him/her. Your painting in super. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully with Love, Jan

Oh my, this poem is very descriptive and leaves my heart feeling a little sad for the rambunctious tiny fawn that can frolic no more. Taxidermy is not for me, but this poem is neat.

A rather sad poem that highlights the senselessness in many cases of killing wildlife just for the glory of the deed and to create trophies. The point is rammed home by the strong contrast between the two halves of your tanka.

You brought the atmospherics here with your write of those innocent bucks that many think of as a prize kill, I hate hunting. Your artwork captured those innocent and inquisitive looks here Pam, a joy to read, love Dolly x

I love what I read in this poem, the Bucks are trying to shield the little one from harm-the senseless shooting of such an animal so they can hang the antlers upon their wall, an excellent Tanka and artwork, very well done with a wonderful message, best of luck with your upcoming operation****kahpot
