Sooooo..... that was a pretty disgusting pic there, my lady....eeeeeewww!! But what a very cool offering for the 13-word contest... you not only managed to deliver a bit of a chill, but you got an awesome (very natural!!) rhyme in there! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck ! ;) Yvette

I sure hope I don't meet one of those! It's scary, because the Natives totally believe the tales they tell. They must be based on something. Good luck in the contest.

Yes, I believe they think that when the ?white? man had to deal with the winters and starvation, they became cannibals to survive which was something not seen by the native Americans as they were pretty much were prepared for the weather being indigenous to the area. But then again, sightings of many strange creatures are reported even in our day and age so one never knows! Thanks so much for reading! xoxo

There was actually a movie written about this subject.
This is a "13 word horror poetry contest entry"
Rich in Theme and Imagery.
It read well and Flowed well with no Grammar Issues as well.
...
Adjective and Objective Contents were both Excellent and Exceptional while Descriptive Measures aligned Perfectly.
Good luck with this and have a great day.
Thanks,

Oh my, I didn?t know there was a movie! Not sure I would want to watch though! Yikes! I live in the Great Lakes area and it makes me want to stay indoors a bit more now! Ha! Thanks for stopping and leaving me feedback. xoxo

Oh, wow! Another creative depiction of a popular horror character! I like! I'm running out of six stars here. I need to be conservative. Your work may catch the marketing eye of industries that involve these characters of fantasy/horror, and could work in your favor. It's very good. Keep it coming!

Wow! Thank you so much! I am honored by your compliment and humbled by your rating. This is kind of a new genre for me, but I?m loving it! Appreciate you enjoyed it! xoxo

This meets the contest requirements splendidly as you deliver a well penned 13 Word Poem on a clearly horrific topic. Your approach is very clever because I think Dean was the ONLY one I have ever seen use this beast - and that goes for all sites and not just this one. He'd be proud of you. Good luck in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

Wow! I haven't read all of Dean's work, but had no idea he wrote on this beast before. He must be visiting in spirit for sure! thanks so much for the compliment! xoxo

Diane,
I am so glad I was unaware of this wendigo creature. It just scares me to envision its voracious appetite and its menacing height.
You made good choices for your illustration, notes, and clip.
Mark
P.S. Consider using a lighter reddish color for your background and your text will increase its contrast value to the FS reader.

I had to give you a five and move quickly as you know this scares me to death! I guess, that's the point and you did not waste a word.
The winner I see.

How scary! I hadn't heard of these wendigo monsters before. As your poem indicates, they're always hungry, just like teenage boys. They're creepy because they look so thin although they seem to eat nonstop. How unfortunate they especially like to devour humans. Excellent use of rhyme. Your word count is correct, and this certainly fits the Halloween spirit. judi

such an awful monster. It's amazing to read some of the monsters of years ago. Frightening creature! They look like a dinosaur or perhaps a dragon. Sure glad this animal was before our time.

I?m really hoping that there was no such creature myself because I live in the Great Lakes region and I hate to think this thing was roaming around where I live! i?m really hoping that there was no such creature myself because I live in the Great Lakes region and I hate to think this thing was roaming around where I live Haha!
