In my opinion, well done and certainly a verse depicting the warm regard of a happy FanStorian - expressed in smooth nonet movement and cordial invitational advice - in full compliance with the prompt. Best wishes in the contest...

Well done - I like that you chose an interesting form to present your poem. And certainly we are all learning from each other - a good thing. Plus what I like are the prompts which MAKE me write quickly.

It's unusual to see a suite of nonets, I think it's the first I've seen. Oh yes indeed, certainly fanstory is not perfect, but the members by enlarge are helpful, critical in a good way, and indeed a humble lot. Most that stick with it, improve exponentially, it has nurtured my own growth enormously, well done, good work, good luck, blessings, Roy

Dear Mystery Writer,

I understand how you feel about FanStory. I'm a huge fan, myself. I've been a member since 2010, I think, and can only say good things about what the site has added to my writing craft. *smile* As well as the friendships I've made.

I enjoyed your post, though I do have a few comments and recommendations for you - which you are welcome to use or ignore, as you please.

1.) Such joy at my first glance,
with such talented
members that share
that which is
--> you've used 'such' twice, and when you speak of humans, it's more appropriate to use 'who' than 'that' or something else. Suggest:
--> (Much) joy at my first glance,
with such talented members (who) share...

2.) Such people, from around
the globe, with coaching,
direct critic,
most honest
kindly,
said.
--> (Nice) people, from around
the globe, with (kind reviews),
direct (critique),
most honest
(coaching)
(help).
--> just to help with flow, etc. (Also to avoid using 'such' again AND to spell 'critique' as I think you mean it here.)

3.) The capstone of FanStory to date,,
--> just one comma

4.) and those are friends
you will sure
to keep
most.
--> and those are friends
you will be
sure to
keep.
--> also for better flow

That's it. I hopeyou may find something helpful in these suggestions. Good luck!

    Robyn, your thorough comments are indeed most welcomed, I can't thank you enough, I am sure you have more important things on your plate. I have effected some changes. I need to look at the syllable count on a couple of others to make sure I don't drop the nonette structure.

Dear author, you have wonderfully written the sentiments that I could not have expressed! You have inspired me to try this form of poetry too! For that alone I am glad to give you six stars

Hello mystery writer. It's creative to use multiple nonets to construct this poem about fanstory. Being on FS he subjected me do lots of different poetry styles but I just can't forced myself to change my voice here. Good luck in the contest.

    Robert, since I am so new, to writing in general. I consider being an eager, early adopter to any challenge, but my preference is free verse.

    I I've come to the conclusion that every writer has their "voice" and we all sound different. The more you write the more comfortable you become expressing your "voice."

I enjoyed your nonette because of its ENTHUSIASTIC ENDORSEMENT of FanStory as a site where one can find friends, get criticism, and learn how to write better. Indeed, you summarize this site's virtues very well. Rod

Great nonette you've written here and a perfect entry for the contest! I'm new to FanStory but I'm already loving it as well. I don't know much about poetry but this was a really well-structured poem that flowed and told a message. Great work!

I liked it a lot. Kind of mirrors the same thoughts I had when I joined in 2006. Looking back After publishing 9 novels and two instructional volumes on fly fishing I think I owe my readers on fanstory a lot. Correct me they did! Usually kindly. Wish I could have expressed it as well as you did. You have skill indeed!

    My friend trailblazer. Your comments hooked with the published fly fishing instructional volumes, aim would be shocked if they are not on my shelf! No better passion than a good hatch, the right fly, catch the release.

    Thanks Bob, I will be certain to take look, I?m 69:retired a year and hankering for a good weekend in waders.
reply by trailblazer101 on 10-Oct-2019
    Ah retirement. LOL. I work harder now than ever. Dragging boats, kicking fins. Freezing my ____ off. Do quite a bit of guiding but mpostly stillwater now. Fish are bigger and I don;t ahve to slip on rocks and lean against the current as much. Still love a day on a stream though and like to read water like we learned when I was a kid and fished creeks. Had one right behind the barn. 7 inch brook trout and i held the Hudson Creek record. 13 and a half inches! Makes me smile now. There was a spring lake over the hill a bit that fed the creek so when I got a bicycle it came into focus. Trout were bigger. When I came to Manitoba there were a mere smattering of trout laes so we pressured the government and communities until we built the Parkland fishery. Now we have plentiful trout lakes (and plenty of visiting American fishers). The Parkland grows huge trout quickly in these pothole lakes left over from when the ice departed eons ago. Lousy with scuds and such so the growth rates are phenomenal. So I decided to hand my hat here. I write fish and do a lot of nature photography. Used to be on FanArtReview but got away from it. Haven;t been active on Fanstory much either but maybe this winter I'll go back to writing my third series of novels and do some of the development on FS. Hope to see more of your stuff too.
