Triple ouch: I recently fell and hurt my leg. I, also, did the wrong thing by trying 'to walk it out' when I should have been relaxing and keeping it elevated. I empathize with your painful and extended situation. (Hope it hasn't been repeated!!)

Naw, I don't even volunteer to help with a party at home anymore. No repeats here! Thanks for reviewing.

Good to know! When my daughter had her wisdom tooth pulled, they suggested frozen peas for her. I'm surprised that you were still walking and even dancing on your injured foot! Sounds like you still had a good time with your friends. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your review! Wrapping the ankle for support disguised the injury until morning, unfortunately.

OK. Marilyn's advice is ~ never stand on a folding chair, no matter what! So sorry for your experience, but you handled it well. A lesser person would have canceled the whole affair. Well written, interesting and with a good tip for using frozen veggies for an ice pack. Marilyn

Thanks bunches for your review. Have not volunteered to host a New Year's party ever since.

You did a great job with your contest entry, Crystie. I enjoyed reading it. Your lines read well with good action. The solution is a tried-and-true one. For those that don't know, the tip is great. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully with Love, Jan

Oh dear, this is something you've never forgotten and the party still went ahead despite the injury, so that was very brave of you Crystie, I enjoyed your true story memory here, love Dolly x

Thank you bunches for your review. Yes, the party went ahead less than two hours after that happened. Have a super day.

Are you a glutton for punishment! Why on earth would you dance on a sprained ankle? Well, I'm sure you'll never do that again and, hopefully, you won't have another mishap. Sorry for lecturing, but if you had told me this story in person, I would have been worse, LOL. Hugs, Lou

Ha, it was my first sprained ankle, and the support from wrapping it convinced me I would be all right for few hours. But it went from a mild sprain to a very bad one by the next day. Thanks for your review!

We 'girls' do so much damage to ourselves in the name of 'appearance' no matter the situation, don't we?! Oh, my goodness, woman, what were you think?! [that was me repeating what my husband and my mom have asked me time and time again -- LOL!] :) ;) ;) A wonderful offering for the contest, Crystie -- just the kind of 'events' I'm sure they're looking for -- thanx for sharing! ;) :) Yvette

Thanks for the review. It seems we never know what to do with injuries until they happen to us.

This meets the contest requirements beautifully as you deliver a well penned complete story that is thoroughly engaging within the word count limits allotted. What a bummer to start the New Year that way, but it sound like you handle it all like the trooper you are. Good luck in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

The ultimate ice pack! We use this trick often. Good to have an edible solution to life's little mishaps. A nicely related reminiscence. Good luck with it in the contest.

Hi Crystie, another interesting story from you - a true one as well. Well written. Frozen peas are the answer, they never fail. But dancing with your ankle in that state - not a good idea. LOL. Good Luck - regards Dorothy x

Yes--it went from a mild or medium sprain to a very bad one. Luckily have had no sprains since! Thank you for your review.
