This is nice, Mark. It's very visual and very accurate, as the patterns created by the rain will change each time and, in fact, will change as the drop hits the water, since it will send out ripples. The photo, of course, is a perfect complement.

THANKS Michele for your endorsement of this particular post. Pleased you liked its overall presentation. Those ripples do alter the way one 'looks' at the pond as raindrops hit it - changing the patterns each time.

I used to love skipping stones to see the ripples they made (on those rare occasions when I could get them to actually skim the surface and not just sink down to the bottom).

-It is a very nice
pond scene, Mark.
-You capture it well
in your poem with
vivid imagery, as in the
first line with sketching circles.
-The concluding line is
good, too, and creates
an aha moment.
-Nice presentation to
go with the poem and
picture, as well.

This is a well penned 5-7-5 with correct line and syllable count. The content is visually vibrant and emotionally soothing. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

You make that placid pond come alive with those rain circles. This is a soothing write, mesmerizing. Like watching raindrops slide down a window pane

Great word choice to deliver that subtle fashion metaphor.

This is one of my favorites of your short writes.

I like this one Mark. It reminds me of watching puddles and the different patterns/circles that they make. Well done and a good choice of topic.

What an astute observation so poetically presented. When my four year old grandson and his friends come out to our lake, part of their fun is throwing rocks in the water and watching the ripples. Science and art and now a poem to go with it!

    Susan,

A little bit older that grandson will be 'skipping' flat rocks across that lake. LOL

THANKS for your stars and support of my short verse.
