This is a rich poem, that I find enormously nostalgic.
I particularly liked the phrases:
What once was true is true no more,
and
Please hear my call.

As an aging reader, as well as the actual words I appreciated the presentation (large words, good contrast without umbragenic olours. Thanks)

You did a great job with your love poem, Jay. I enjoyed reading it. Your words flow smoothly with an interesting rhyme scheme that works well. I like how the last short lines of each verse have the monorhyme. Your message is strong. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully, Jan

A very well-written and heartfelt poem about a love that will last for eternity beyond the grave. A true love never let the other down or in making them look like the fool.

Jay, This is a very well written poem of love and wanting. You used very good descriptive words. It is amazing that you wrote this poem in 1984 and so many things have happened since then. I enjoyed reading and reviewing my friend. May God bless you! Teri

A true lament that cries for attention. It seems you got it and married.
The poem is well structured and definitively states its case in no uncertain terms. Well done, as usual.

Awe! This is a sad poem, and a happy sad ending from your notes! I love how you rhymed the last line of each verse with the next verse! Did she ever get to read this one? I'm sure you count your blessings to even have won her back. xoxo

What a lovely poem about love. Words can express a lot of their treasures, experiences in a person's life. If we didn't have love and faith in each other and our God above, it would be a tough world to live in.

So sorry for your loss and your beautiful poem is a constant reminder of your blessed love. Pain will always be there, but bringing your happy memories will smooth this pain. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Hello Jaybird, this is a very moving poem - biographical, and your wording is beautiful. Sad when a loved one dies - but life goes on. Lovely read. Thank you for posting. Regards Dorothy
