Thanks so very much, Phyllis, for all those stars! I haven't written a poem in yonks, and here I am, nose and eyes streaming, head thumping, and throat like sandpaper and a poem is born! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm struggling at the moment to write much at all. But I think I'll stick to poetry for a short while. I've just seen you have a story on here, I'll go and read it. A harrowing tale of bravery, all told in neat, tight rhyme.
Just the kind of story to get my heart a-pumpin'.
I've always been fond of trains, Sandra--steam locomotives in particular.
They played such a role in the expansion of my country.

I used to go train-spotting with my brother, much to Mum's annoyance. We would always come home black from the sooty steam, but that was half the fun! Loved, loved, loved this!
I was completely transported to that train track and couldn't wait to find out what happened. Not sure if this is a true story but it felt like one. This is such a great tale with perfect rhyme, it's a winner in my eyes : )
